Egyptian Judge Hamed Abdullah took the oath Saturday before Interim President Adly Mansour to be appointed as head of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC).
Also, according to state-owned MENA news agency, TV anchor and prominent journalist Ahmed El-Moslimany was appointed media consultant to the interim president.
Mansour, who was sworn into office Thursday morning, met Saturday with Egypt's defence and interior ministers and intelligence chief.
He also met with his new aides, constitutional consultant Judge Aly Awad Saleh, political consultant Mustafa Hegazy, and security consultant General Rafaat Shehata, in addition to representatives to political forces.
Mansour took over power in an interim capacity after Defence Minister Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi announced Mohamed Morsi's dismissal following four days of nationwide mass protests that demanded early presidential elections.
