Cameroon striker and captain Samuel Eto'o has urged his teammates to continue their good work in order to achieve more glory at the World Cup in Brazil next year.
"Now that we have qualified, we have to start our preparation as soon as tomorrow. If we start work soon we can do better than what Ghana did three years ago in South Africa," Eto'o told journalists after the game.
The Indomitable Lions thrashed Tunisia 4-1 on Sunday to reach their seventh World Cup finals (1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010 and 2014).
Cameroon were the first to break the ceiling for Africa on the world stage after reaching the World Cup quarter-finals in Italy in 1990. Their performance was matched by Senegal in 2002 and Ghana in 2006.
However, the four-time African champions have struggled over the past few years and have failed to reach even the Africa Cup of Nations finals in 2012 and 2013.
The iconic Eto'o - a four-time African 'player of the year' winner – has been a fierce critic of his country's football association, accusing them of corruption and lack of discipline and organisation.
The 32-year-old striker even announced his international retirement before returning to the sport, allegedly at the request Cameroon President Paul Biya.
"We did a good job. Work is the key to our success. Last time, I said there is no magic in football and that's what we proved on Sunday. We understand that only hard work can lead to good results," Eto'o concluded.
