Egypt's Judges' Club and Egypt's administrative court have both signed an insurance policy to secure the lives of judges supervising the constitutional referendum.

"The policy is against all dangers including political violence, riot, civil unrest, fires and robbery," Abel-Raouf Kotb, head of the Insurance Federation of Egypt told Ahram Arabic news website.

He also added that the police covers judges from the moment they leave their homes until their return.

Insurance companies will pay LE1 million ($142,000) in case of death.

2050 judges of the administrative court will be benefiting from 6 days insurance while 3500 judges' insurance policy covers only 4 days.

The referendum takes place on the 14 and 15 of January.
