Conducted by Hisham Gabr, the two events featured the famed Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. The concerts took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 5 February and at the Ewart Hall on 6 February.

The evenings included the Bibliotheca Alexandrina (BA) Chamber Orchestra, the BA Youth Orchestra alonside the BA Choir, and BA Children Choir, joined by the Heaven Harp Choir. The choir master is Rodica Ocheseanu.

The evenings were also joined by three French renowned soloists, soprano Marilyn Clément, counter-tenor Bertrand Dazin, and baritone Richard Rittelmann.

Carmina Burana is the second major choral work performed by the Bibiotheca Alexandrina's artists in the span of one year. In April 2015, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's famed Requiem mass was performed at the Biblitoheca Alexandrina followed by a concert at the All Saints' Cathedral in Cairo.
