VIDEO: Egypt's first-ever Women's Roller Derby Club hopes to go international

Ahram Online visits with the Cairo Roller Derby Club - Egypt's first-ever women's roller derby team.

The team, which was founded in 2012, has been searching for local and international recognition.

Roller derby is a contact sport which involves  a tug-of-war between two teams of five each competing to out-muscle one another while skating around a track.

Each team relies on a "jammer," an attack player who snatches a point for her side if she can slip through the opposing team's blockers and finish one full lap around the track.
