Israeli strikes killed at least 40 Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on Friday, as many residents remained in their homes despite evacuation orders, saying they have nowhere safe to go.

Israel has ordered hundreds of thousands of people to leave the city as it escalates its all-out genocidal war on the besieged territory. But with no real safety, space, or food in the south, families face impossible choices.

Since October 2023, Israel has killed more than 64,000 Palestinians in Gaza, the majority women and children, and wounded over 162,000 others.
