Egypt – and the whole world – are entitled to celebrating the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP27) at Sharm El-Sheikh concluded with a hard-fought, historic deal to establish a Loss and Damage Fund to “save lives and livelihoods from climate change-related disasters” in poor countries that contribute little to global warming.
