Egypt ready to face Brazil world-class stars: Mohamed Hany

Egypt right-back Mohamed Hany says the Pharaohs are fully focused and ready for their friendly against Brazil as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

"We are fully focused and have nothing on our minds except our work," Hany told Egyptian sports channel ON Sport on Thursday.

Egypt are due to face Brazil in a friendly match at Huntington Bank Field on 6 June as part of their preparations for the World Cup finals.

"We are ready for the Brazil game. We study all our opponents carefully to identify their strengths and weaknesses," Hany said.

"Brazil's squad includes some of the best players in the world. There are no players better than them," he added.

"Not only me, but all the players will do their best to deliver a good performance. We will do everything we can to achieve a positive result regardless of the opponent's name," the Ahly defender noted.

The Pharaohs have been drawn in Group G alongside Belgium, New Zealand, and Iran at the tournament, which kicks off on 11 June and will be jointly hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

"It is a dream for everyone to be here and represent the Egyptian national team," Hany said.

Egypt will begin their World Cup campaign against Belgium on 15 June before facing New Zealand on 22 June and Iran on 27 June.
