Book fair in UAE to start 16 November hosting 135 Egyptian publishers

Sharjah Book Fair's 30th round will run from 16-26 November with 750 publishers, of which 135 are from Egypt

Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) will start it’s 30th round on Wednesday, 16 November, under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, UAE.

The fair will continue until 26 November, with 750 publishers from 42 different countries, which is estimated will attract 400,000 visitors.

Among the 135 Egyptian publishers that will participate is the National Centre for Translation, bringing some 400 titles translated into Arabic, covering a range of disciplines.

A new $300,000 fund dedicated to translation projects, networking and educational programmes will be launched.

The fair mixes in some business with the books, by including commercial matchmaking sessions.

Children will have dedicated programmes. For adults, renown lecturers, including George Goodwin and Kate Mosse will give presentations, along with another 13 Arab and international authors.
